A-Max Hardwood recently became the only company in Idaho to be certified by the NWFA. The NWFA is an organization that sets standards for hardwood flooring in the United States. You can read more about the NWFA at their website www.nwfa.org.
The training was done in Portland, Oregon at the Cronin Flooring Company. The training took part over 3 full days and was presented by Rob Zehnder and Kjell Nymark. Both proctors are possibly the most knowledgeable hardwood flooring experts we have had the pleasure to meet. Rob is a Vanguard and Kjell is an Advanced Masters Craftsman – both are certified NWFA inspectors. The knowledge between these two was simply amazing.
During the 3 days we did the following:
1 day of instructional teachings in the classroom
- Covering installation practices and standards
- Covering refinishing practices and standards
1 day of installation of the following:
- floating floors
- engineered hardwood
- strip plank flooring
1 day of Sand and Finishing
- Belt sander
- seal coat
- finish coats
All portions of the above were graded for a a pass or fail. Upon completion of the course both Allan and Eli were presented with certificates of passing and completion. A-Max Hardwood takes continuing education very seriously. Certifications do not teach us anything but give us a way to show our skills with a set of standards to potential clients. It also binds us to a set of standards and ethics set up by the NWFA. By using A-Max Hardwood you know you are getting a job that is of high standards set by the NWFA.
